The Journey Begins Now
Retirement Holidays to Asia
Retirement is the moment you finally have time to travel properly — not a rushed two weeks, but a real journey. Japan at cherry blossom. India over three weeks. Vietnam by private junk, night train and riverside restaurant.
Our retirement holidays are private, unhurried and designed for people who want to experience Asia at its best, not just pass through it. All ATOL protected. All paced for travellers over 50.
Why Asia for Retirement
Travel gets significantly better when you have time
The destinations you've always talked about
Japan, India, Cambodia — the places people spend decades meaning to visit. Retirement is the moment. You have the time to do them properly rather than rush through on two weeks' annual leave.
Travel that matches your rhythm
Our itineraries are paced for travellers over 50 by design — no 6am departures, no back-to-back walking days, midday rest built in. The pace of each day is yours to set with your guide.
Go when the crowds aren't there
Retirement means you can travel in October, February or November — the shoulder seasons when temples are quieter, hotels have their best availability and the weather is often at its finest.
Take the time the destination deserves
Working travellers spend 10 days in Japan and wish they had 14. You can spend 18. The extra days change everything — they are the difference between a holiday and a journey.

Learn About the Signature ExperienceRetirement travel — frequently asked questions
Is Asia a good destination for someone travelling for the first time since retirement?
It is one of the best. The practical complexity — language, transport, local knowledge — is entirely handled by your private guide and our pre-trip preparation. You simply arrive and experience. Many of our guests are on their first big trip since retirement and describe it as the best holiday of their lives.
Which Asian destination is best for a retirement trip?
Japan is the most popular for first-time retirement travellers — it is safe, smooth, extraordinarily well-organised and completely different from anywhere in Europe. Sri Lanka and Vietnam are also excellent first choices, offering tremendous variety at slightly lower price points. India rewards more time but is deeply rewarding.
How long should a retirement holiday to Asia be?
If you are newly retired and have the flexibility, we recommend at least 14–16 nights. This is the difference between rushing and genuinely experiencing a place. Japan benefits from 14–18 nights. India and Vietnam from 16–21 nights. The Signature Experience (28–35 nights across multiple countries) is popular with guests who want to mark retirement with something truly significant.
Are these holidays suitable if one of us has a medical condition or limited mobility?
Yes — we build itineraries around your specific requirements. Every tour day notes walking distances, terrain type and accessibility. Your guide is fully briefed. We recommend comprehensive travel insurance with medical cover, and we provide guidance on suitable providers as part of your pre-departure pack.
Can I travel as a solo retirement traveller?
Absolutely — solo retirement travellers are among our most enthusiastic guests. Single supplement applies on most tours and is waived on selected departures. Our guides are experienced at travelling with solo guests and many describe the solo experience as even more personal and rewarding.
What if I have never been to Asia before?
Most of our guests are first-time Asia visitors. That is why we exist. Your private guide handles every practical element — currency, language, navigation, cultural context. Our pre-departure pack covers everything from packing lists to health advice. You arrive informed and completely looked after.
Which destination has been on your list longest?
Tell us and we will send you a sample itinerary, hotel options and a full quote. Most guests say it is the best phone call they make all year.
