Why Travel Solo With Us
The freedom of solo travel, with none of the worry
Travel solo — never alone
A private guide who knows the destination, the language and exactly how to pace each day means you are looked after from arrival to return. You enjoy the freedom of solo travel with none of the worry.
Designed for travellers over 50
No 6am starts, no exhausting back-to-back days. Our itineraries are paced for mature travellers by design, with midday rest built in and the day shaped around your rhythm — not a group timetable.
Genuinely safe, genuinely reassuring
Asia is one of the warmest and safest regions in the world for solo travellers. With trusted hotels, private transfers and a guide at your side, many solo guests — especially women over 60 — tell us they felt safer than at home.
A fair deal on the single supplement
We dislike the single supplement as much as you do. It applies on most tours, but we waive it entirely on selected November and February departures — and we will always tell you the fairest way to travel.

A fairer approach to the single supplement
Solo travellers should not be penalised for travelling alone. The single supplement applies on most tours, but we waive it entirely on selected November and February departures — and our specialists will always find you the fairest possible price. Spread the cost with our flexible payment options, too.

Solo travel to Asia — frequently asked questions
Is Asia safe for solo travellers over 60?
Yes — Asia is among the safest and most welcoming regions in the world for mature solo travellers. You are never left to navigate alone: a private guide handles language, transport and local knowledge, your hotels are chosen for comfort and security, and transfers are private throughout. Many of our solo guests over 60 tell us they felt more looked after than on any holiday they have taken.
Is Thailand or India safe for a solo woman over 60?
Both are excellent choices for solo women. Thailand in particular is famously gentle and easy for first-time solo travellers. We arrange trusted hotels, a vetted guide and private transfers, and our specialists brief you fully before you go. Solo women are among our most enthusiastic guests — and most return to book a second trip.
Do I have to pay a single supplement?
A single supplement applies on most tours, but we waive it entirely on selected November and February departures. We will always show you the dates where you can travel solo without paying extra, and our specialists will find you the fairest possible price. Ask us for the current single-supplement-free departure schedule.
Will I be travelling completely alone, or in a group?
That is entirely your choice. Our solo holidays are privately guided, so you have your own specialist and your own pace — you are never herded onto a coach with strangers. If you would prefer some company, we can also place you on a small-group departure of like-minded mature travellers. Many solo guests enjoy a mix of both.
What is the best Asian country for a first solo trip?
Thailand is the most popular first solo destination — warm, safe, easy and beautifully set up for comfortable travel. Sri Lanka and Japan are also superb first choices. Japan, in particular, is so safe and well-organised that solo travellers consistently describe it as easier than they ever expected.
Are there solo holidays in Asia for the over 70s?
Absolutely — many of our solo guests are in their 70s and 80s. We simply shape the pace to suit: Easy Pace itineraries with minimal walking, comfortable transfers and plenty of rest, or Steady Pace for those who want to see more without rushing. Age is never a barrier; the right pace is everything.
How fit do I need to be, and what if I have mobility considerations?
You choose your pace. Our three pace options — Easy, Steady and Active — let you travel exactly as you wish, and every tour day notes walking distances and terrain. We arrange itineraries for guests who use walking aids and those with limited mobility, with your guide fully briefed in advance. Tell us your needs and we build the trip around them.
Where would you go, if it were entirely up to you?
That is the joy of solo travel — the trip is yours alone to choose. Tell us where, and we will send a sample itinerary, single-supplement-free dates and a full quote. No pressure, no obligation.
